Five Friday Faves

Welcome to our second installment of Five Friday Faves, where we share random stuff we're loving that doesn't necessarily fit into the structure of our other blog posts. From podcasts to nail care, and everything in between, check out what five things each of us are currently obsessed with! Oh, and be sure to check out our first FFF post here.

Midi Dresses
I've always loved a vintage inspired dress and skirt, so I am thrilled that midi dresses and skirts are sticking around this spring and summer! I'm pretty sure I will exclusively be wearing midis from now until the fall, and probably after. I've posted my current favs below!

I recently listened to the entire first season of this podcast a few months ago. It's an investigative series that explores the case of Jacob Wetterling, an 11 year old boy from Minnesota who was abducted and murdered in 1989. The primary focus of the podcast though, is to point out the systematic failures that happened with this case, and others. It also explores the broader impact of the case and the lasting implications as well. I won't give too much away because it's a great listen. They also just announced that season 2 is coming out May 1st! Highly recommend if you are into true crime podcasts.

You guys. If you haven't delighted your taste buds with this sweet nectar yet, you need to drop what you're doing and go buy some stat! It is the most amazing sparkling water I've ever tasted! I will definitely be drinking this all summer long.

I discovered this coffee late last summer and made the mistake of drinking it straight without adding water to it (it's seriously that smooth that I couldn't even tell it was concentrate and not blended). Well, I almost went into cardiac arrest while doing a workout, THEN decided to read the label which stated to mix it with water or milk before drinking. Whoopsies! I love cold brew in the warmer months so will be adding more to my shopping list soon!

I know I am SUPER late to the game on this (like, 10 years late), but I just started watching RuPaul's Drag Race and I.AM.OBSESSED! I knew I would be infatuated by it when I finally did watch it, and let me tell you, I am. I can't get enough of it! If you're like me and have waited this long to dive in, don't think you need to go back to season 1, you can dive right on in to the current season! You're welcome.

Opal House
This new home goods line from Target is giving me life rn. From luscious pineapple patterns, to wicker furniture, to lush jewel-tone velvet, there is something in this line for almost any home decor style. Personally I'm eyeing the palm leaf candleholders like mad, but I also wouldn't mind buying the entire collection of throw pillows.

Sour Beer
I'm not much of a beer drinker, as I may have mentioned before. I would rather lick a toad than drink a pale ale, so I typically gravitate towards stouts and porters, as long as they aren't too sweet (I'm a black coffee drinker, so I see a real parallel there). However, I've been surprisingly into this new sour beer craze that's been happening. Again, I like things that aren't too sweet, so sour beer is like a perfectly tart lemonade that's boozy in my opinion. They often have a nice fruity essence, and a low ABV content, so they will be perfect for sipping as the weather warms up! To ease into the the world of sour beers, try starting with the Hibiscus Gose from Boulevard.

Sally Hansen Cuticle Rehab
I feel like because winter seems to be hanging on so long, winter probs are also hanging on. Dry hair, dry skin, dry nails that easily break, and wonky cuticles. Enter Sally Hansen Cuticle Rehab. This stuff has seriously been a game-changer for me. I don't know how this voodoo works, but if you brush the gel on your cuticles, massage it in, and let it sit overnight, you wake up with perfectly repaired cuticles. All hang nails disappear. It's some crazy magic, but I won't question it.

Hand Luggage Only
My husband and I are currently in the works of nailing down details for our European vacation this summer, and I've been poring through tons of travel blogs and sites to get ideas for what we need to prioritize. Hand Luggage Only, a site created by two guys from the UK is the most informational, succinct and beautifully photographed blog I've come across. These dudes have been nearly everywhere, so if you're planning a trip, be sure to see if they've covered a city you're going to. If you're not, just spend like 6 hours scrolling through their gorgeous Instagram feed.

Straw Boater Hats
Speaking of traveling, obviously one of the most fun things for me in planning a trip is planning out my wardrobe! In planning for Europe, I do want to wear comfortable outfits that I can do tons of exploring in, and while I'll be slathering on sunscreen, I'm also looking at some fun hats I can take to shade my ultra pale skin from the sun. I may or may not have fallen in love with these petite straw boater hats in the process of searching. I mean, how will these not be perfect in southern France?!

Let us know in the comments what you're currently obsessing over!
