The holiday are a perfect time for bold makeup looks. Today, I am showing you how to get a dramatic look using the Urban Decay Heat palette and other makeup that you can get at your local drugstore.
I started by doing the rest of my makeup and putting an eye primer on my eye lids. I love Urban Decay Primer Potion. It is hands down the best primer I've ever used.
To begin, I covered my entire lid with Lumbre.
Then, I used Scorched on the outer 3/4 of my eyelid, starting at the corner and blending inward. Make sure to blend well as you go along.
After that, I used an angled brush to put Ashes just in the crease of my lid, starting at the outer corner and going in halfway.
Last, I blended Ounce in the inner corner of my lids. Then BLEND, BLEND, BLEND!
After the shadow is blended, I added a thick layer of black eyeliner on the top on my eyelid and the outer corner of my lower lash line.
I then used Ashes again to line my lower lash line.
To finish, I layered on Maybelline Falsies mascara (which I SWEAR by!) and a dark berry wine lip, using Molly's technique, found here. Last, but certainly not least, I use a Q-Tip to clean up the outer edges of my eye shadow and smudge my lower lash line. It helps to give your makeup that perfectly blended look!
Voila! A dramatic look that's perfect for your holiday party circuit! What are your makeup tips and tricks?
