Crushing on Velvet

After owning crushed velvet pants, a blazer, a turban, and a choker, I've been looking for a festive velvet top to round out my collection. This top from Target was the one! It's super reasonably priced and the color is perfect for Christmas, but will also work for the rest of the winter.

I'm also in love with the ruched sleeve detail. I feel like I'm halfway between an '80s bridesmaid and a figure skater and I'm not mad about it on either count. To give it the look of a bodysuit, I tucked it into high waist black ruffle jeans, which have turned out to be a huge wardrobe staple for me this winter.

I accessorized with a black vintage choker from my grandmother's collection. I wore it to a formal dance in high school and I love that fashion is so cyclical and chokers are back in now.

Black bejeweled booties finish the look off with a festive flair. I'm ready for a rockin' Christmas eve look or a party look for the next couple months!

Cheers to holiday outfits that last beyond the holidays!
