I just love rompers for summer! I've been so excited to bust them out the past couple of years and I even think Jodi may be coming over to the dark side of team romper. They can be super fun and playful, or as dressy as a dress, and they're so flexible. Literally flexible too: you could do high kicks or cartwheels in this number. You can't do that stuff in a dress.
I do love playsuits and short sleeved rompers, but this long sleeved lace romper is ideal for a polished daytime look. Then, for a date night look, simply swap out the shoes for heels and add some large earrings, and you've got a whole different ensemble!
For this daytime look, I styled the romper with a blush fringe purse, flatform oxfords, a bow choker necklace, and a lilac lip, all of which reinforced a trendy and whimsical theme. It could also easily be styled with a baby beehive updo, a bold red lip, and retro jewelry for a totally '60s look.
To top off the ensemble, I styled bad girl braids, which I'm also really loving for summer. If you haven't heard that term yet, it just means braids on an adult. So instead of saying "hey, I'm a 28-year old lady wearing pigtails!" Nah, bad girl braids. So chic. (I'd also like to give a shoutout to my 16-year old self when I played the role of Dorothy Gale, which gave me the skills to bust this hairstyle out in less than four minutes.)
What is your favorite super versatile piece for summer? What tips do you have from taking the piece from day to night or to different styles?
