Ever since I was little, blue has been my favorite color. It probably helps that it's a color that so easily goes with porcelain skin and blue eyes, but I think honestly I love the variation within it. Is it just me, or do there seem to be more possible shades of blue than red or yellow? I'm throwing out the fact that I have a fine arts degree and say yes. So, it's settled.
With blues, unless you're wearing a Canadian tuxedo, (and maybe even then), you can still easily get a contrasting look. I mean, I do love a good monochromatic look, but maybe not every day.
This delicate pale blue floral sweater is one of my favorites. I've had it for the last few years and it's always one I can't wait to wear when it starts feeling like spring. I mean, it's not long sleeved, and that could be dangerous for Illinois winters.
This navy structured skirt complements the top perfectly in both style and color. It's the real anchor to the ensemble. And it's got pockets, so it can be the anchor of my life if it wants to be. (I don't know what that means even, but I think I'd like to coin that phrase.)
I played up the springtime hues with a blush pink longline jacket, and a chunky blush necklace. Large white sunnies help say "it's not winter anymore!" and help give a throwback vibe to the look. Brown booties with buttons are the perfect tie between the vintage and modern.
