The perfect thing about a little gold dress (LGD?) is that it works equally well for Christmas and winter parties or for a New Year's Eve look! I snagged this little gold number with cutouts from Forever 21 for less than $30. For that price, it's good to just have on hand for whatever event might pop up and call for some sparkle. ;)
Gold is everywhere now from home accessories to fashion that it's practically a neutral. This look is more understated than sequins or gold beads, but still packs a visual punch. Between the metallic look of the fabric, and the geometric side cutouts, I feel kind of space-age chic.
I added black accessories for an evening look with a heavy-duty statement necklace and vintage clutch. Pops of red give the ensemble a playful and festive look. I mean, look at these ridiculous shoes. You have to bust these out at some point during the holiday season. Pairing them with a solid dress and conservative accessories is a nice balance that lets them shine without making the look too busy.
Green nails are a fun and unexpected nod to Christmas colors if you're styling that route. Last but not least, even with the unseasonably warm weather this winter, you still need a coat this time of year. I love this forest green peacoat with a peter pan collar to finish off a sophisticated look.
Do you have a LGD in your wardrobe? At what occasions would you wear a gold dress?
