Our month of holiday party inspiration continues! Last week, I styled for a classic upscale cocktail party with black, white and green, accented with gold. (Check out Jodi's cocktail style earlier this week here!) This week, I went in kind of the opposite direction. Black, white and maroon look accented with silver created a totally 90s-riffic look.
This look is more trendy and casual, fit for a fun night out or a get-together with friends. As I say again and again, I love to play up a good theme. This empire waist dress could be styled any number of ways, but a choker, chunky shoes, dark lips, and a high half bun really play up the 90s vibe.
I'm also loving styling holiday looks that are more understated and use fun accents to give them a festive flair. This gorgeous black velvet bow closure in the back gives a nod to the season, but green nails and a sparkly necklace take this from a year-round ensemble to a perfectly wintery look.
What makes an ensemble festive in your book? Do you like to go-all out Christmas-tree-look-alike or more understated?
