Wear it 2 Ways: Maroon Booties

JODI

Molly and I have been friends for several years. We met in an art class in college and admired each other's style so much that we decided to be friends right then and there. Our friendship is extra special because we share a lot of interests, but also celebrate our differences. One example of this similar yet different approach to style are these maroon booties that we both bought on a trip to Ireland and Scotland last September.

I usually pair them with skinny jeans and a structured top. Here I've styled the booties so they are the pop of color in the outfit. I kept things interesting though with shiny black and gold accessories throughout the look. I absolutely love these sunglasses from Nasty Gal. They look just like a much more expensive pair from Prada.

As you might guess, I took a totally different approach to styling these lovely booties. Sort of 90s girly grunge. I love pairing maxi skirts and dresses with wedges. It really helps create a long and lean silhouette. I took a cue from the fancy back cutout and paired the outfit with geometric jewelry.

I think the mix of opposites of the flowy floral pattern and the harsh geometric details create an interesting combination. And with all this drama already, dark lips were definitely in order. The outfit as a whole had a very Jessa (from Girls) feel to it, which is fun... every once in a while, anyway.
